Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the physical and natural built environment. Civil Engineering includes works such as buildings, bridges, flyovers, under passes, roads, railway tracks, airports, docks and harbor, factories, dams, barrages, canals, water supply schemes, sewerage system, etc.

We aim to produce qualified engineers and technologists, who would be equipped with the current knowledge in the Civil Engineering field and have the professional skills. The faculty at Civil Engineering Department is qualified from prestigious local and international universities. The Faculty has vast academic, research and professional experience.

Civil Engineering graduates has sufficient opportunities of getting job in various government sectors i.e. Communication and Works (C & W), Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Punjab Irrigation Department (PID), Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA), National highway authority (NHA), Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Public Health Engineering (PHE) etc. The graduates also has many opportunities of getting job in private sector firms like National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), National Development Consultant (NDC), Associated Consulting Engineers (ACE), SKB Engineering and Construction, Descon Engineering Limited and many more.

Chenab College of Engineering and Technology Gujranwala has been established with the objective of promoting education in the field of engineering. We aim to produce qualified engineers, who would be equipped with the current knowledge in the relevant fields and have the professional skills: To play the vital role in the prosperity and development of our beloved country, Pakistan.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)


The Program Educational Objectives are broad statements that describe the career and professional accomplishments that the program is preparing graduates to achieve after few years of graduation. The PEOs for the B.Sc. civil engineering program reflect the mission of the College and the mission of the program. They are important for successful professional practice and the ability to pursue advanced degrees. The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) are to produce graduates who can exhibit following traits after five (05) years of graduation: Graduates will be highly competent and employable demonstrating sound knowledge and skills.

PEO-1:Graduates demonstrate their proficiency of applying the knowledge & skills to solve complex civil engineering problems.
PEO-2:Graduates communicate effectively and contribute in the project team.
PEO-3:Graduates uphold principles of ethics and integrity throughout their professional practices.
PEO-4:Graduates engage themselves in continuous professional learning process.


Programs Learning Outcomes (PLOs)


PLO-01: Engineering Knowledge: An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, Engineering fundamentals and Engineering specialization to defined and applied Engineering procedures, processes, systems or methodologies.
PLO-02: Problem Analysis: An ability to Identify, formulate, research literature and analyze broadly-defined Engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using analytical tools appropriate to the discipline or area of specialization.
PLO-03: Design/Development of Solution: An ability to design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PLO-04: Investigation:n ability to conduct investigations of broadly-defined problems; locate, search and select relevant data from codes, data bases and literature, design and conduct experiments to provide valid conclusions.
PLO-05: Modern Tool Usage: An ability to create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.
PLO-6: The Engineer and Society: An ability to apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice and solution to complex engineering problems.
PLO-07: Environment and Sustainability: An ability to understand the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate knowledge of and need for sustainable development.
PLO-08: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering practice.
PLO-09: Individual and Team Work: An ability to work effectively, as an individual or in a team, on multifaceted and/or multidisciplinary settings.
PLO-10: Communication: An ability to communicate effectively, orally as well as in writing, on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
PLO-11: Project Management: Ability to demonstrate management skills and apply engineering principles to one’s own work, as a member and/or leader in a team, to manage projects in a multidisciplinary environment.
PLO-12: Life-Long Learning: An ability to recognize importance of, and pursue lifelong learning in the broader context of innovation and technological developments.
