Department of Mechanical Engineering is established with the Affiliation of University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore. Mechanical Engineering program provides unyielding foundation of mathematical, scientific and engineering knowledge and develop the practical skills that will serve students throughout their career.


The program aims to provide Pakistan with high caliber engineers needed for the development of the country. Well qualified and competent faculty members are available in the department. Mechanical Engineering is highly versatile and diversified engineering discipline.


On one hand it is concerned with the design of machines and equipment that use energy and convert it into useful work. On the other hand it deals with the design and development of machines that are used for manufacturing or production equipment.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is dedicated to continued innovation through its high-quality academic program. The department offers undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering, which cover a wide spectrum of fields while keeping up with their fast pace of technological advancement. Department of Mechanical Engineering offers high-quality courses aimed at individuals who can amicably meet these challenges. The program of studies enables them to read the team of future young engineers and to realize their innovative ideas.

We consider educating and nourishing the next generation of engineers as a key role in the technological development of the society.The faculty at Mechanical Engineering Department is equipped with vast academic and research experience and is instrumental in providing excellence both theoretically and practically. Chenab College of Engineering and Technology Gujranwala has been established with the objective of promoting education in the field of engineering and technology. Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)


At the completion of four years B.Sc Mechanical Engineering Degree Program, graduates will be able to


  1. PEO-1:   Apply the knowledge to solve analytical and practical engineering problems.
  2. PEO-2:  Work for continuous socio-technical development of the society.
  3. PEO-3:  Exhibit strong communication, and managerial skills, as team leaders as well as team members.

Programs Learning Outcomes (PLOs)


Program learning outcomes (PLOs) are the narrow statements that describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. These relate to the knowledge, skills and attitude that the students acquire while progressing through the program. The program is supposed to ensure that the students have attained the following graduate attributes by the end of the program.

  1. PLO-1:  Engineering Knowledge: Graduates of the program will be able to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex Mechanical Engineering problems.
  2. PLO-2:  Problem Analysis: Graduates of the program will be skilled in identifying, formulating, researching literature, and analyzing complex Mechanical Engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  3. PLO-3:  Design/Development of Solutions: Graduates of the program will be capable of designing solutions for complex Mechanical Engineering problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. PLO-4:  Investigation: Graduates of the program will be prepared to investigate complex Mechanical Engineering problems in a methodical way including literature survey, design and conduct of experiments, analysis and interpretation of experimental data, and synthesis of information to derive valid conclusions.
  5. PLO-5:  Modern Tool Usage: Graduates of the program will be capable of creating, selecting and applying appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modeling, to complex Mechanical Engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. PLO-6:  The Engineer and Society: Graduates of the program will be proficient in applying reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional Mechanical Engineering practice and solution to complex Mechanical Engineering problems.
  7. PLO-7:  Environment and Sustainability:Graduates of the program will be capable of understanding the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate knowledge of and need for sustainable development.
  8. PLO-8:  Ethics: Graduates of the program will be prepared to apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of Mechanical engineering practice.
  9. PLO-9:  Individual and Team Work: Graduates of the program will be able to work effectively, as an individual or in a team, on multifaceted and /or multidisciplinary settings.
  10. PLO-10:  Communication: Graduates of the program will be capable of communicating effectively, orally as well as in writing, on complex Mechanical engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  11. PLO-11:  Project Management: Graduates of the program will be able to demonstrate management skills and apply engineering principles to one’s own work, as a member and/or leader in a team, to manage projects in a multidisciplinary environment.
  12. PLO-12:  Lifelong Learning: Graduates of the program will be capable of recognizing importance of, and pursuing lifelong learning in the broader context of innovation and technological developments.
